World's Worst Blogger

Hi! I am turning into the world's worst blogger! I make vows to keep this updated, and then the months seem to fly by. That's because there's always so much happening at Quilter's Dream!

Take now, for instance. We are in the last three days of our Tent Sale. It has been SO BUSY with our fabric all on sale, plus notions, machines, threads ... EVERYTHING! We've all been hopping.

Then, we are offering some awesome summer classes. I myself taught a collage summer camp every day last week! All of our classes are full and we are so delighted to be able to meet those students who work full-time but spend their summer vacations with us.

Our quilt retreat in September is full, but that doesn't mean that the planning for it is over! Kits need to be cut and decisions made. It's a UFO retreat and I need to plan some alien-invasion activities!

Creative Stitches is October 1st and 2nd - we are already planning how our booths will look and cutting kits, making new samples and ordering special items for the event. It will be exciting.

PLUS, our Series of Sizzling Summer Specials continues - there's a different item on sale every day and so EVERY DAY we need to create a new display ... keeps us on our toes.

You should see all the new fabric lines we are bringing in! Personally, I am hooked on Kaffe Fassett and am already working on my second quilt since the fabric was delivered a few weeks ago. I love his large florally prints!

And our challenge is underway!!! Check the website to read all about it. You could win the Grand Prize!

Hope summer is treating you well. I'm feeling "drenched" from all the rain, but it has been nice and dry in both the stores and in my own studio. What more could I want?

Keep smiling,
Darlene

Happy Spring!

Easter has passed and it's time to look forward to April showers? May flowers? And an opportunity to sign up for some exciting summer time workshops! Darlene is busy putting together the summer class schedule - stay tuned. We will be offering day time courses only - but will cover the basics of Quilt Making, Machine Quilting, a few art classes and hopefully, some kids' programs too!

So MUCH is new in both stores - the north has been busy redecorating and shedding some light on everything! (We've opened up the window area again and are sure enjoying seeing the sun every day!) The south store has been measured up for some bright new window coverings and continues to put together some of the best quilting displays in the city. Plans are underway for our fall retreat - call Darlene at the north store if you have any questions.

If you and a group of friends would like a special workshop offered for you this summer, give us a call and we'll put something together for you. It's that easy!

Wow! Time Flies!

Can't believe it's the end of February already! The store has seen the start-up of some great winter classes; two fantastic fabric sales; a great Valentine Quilting Demo; and the arrival of hundreds of new bolts of fabric!!!

Now we are drawing close to National Quilting Month (better known to some as March!). What events would you like to see in the store? We are tossing around several options ... maybe even a "free" class somewheres along the line!

Make sure that your e-mail address is in the store's data base! We have been doing weekly e-mails out with specials, coupons and such. And come see the new floor plan at the North Store - we have windows and sunshine again and the whole atmosphere is so much brighter!

Hope to see you soon!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

After a couple of VERY busy weeks, with in-store specials and our Year-End Rear-End Sale, it is good to see January rolling around! It's time to think about classes, projects, and getting some of those UFOs finished! If you have been receiving our e-mail notices, you will soon get a coupon for $5.00 off the enrollment on one class. Make use of it, get yourself excited over a new project, and stretch your creativity!

There's also coupons out there for 2-for-1 scissor sharpening and $10 off a sewing machine/serger service, so there's no excuse not to be ready for a class or project!

Congratulations to the two lucky people who won Gift Baskets donated by Pfaff and full of quilting and sewing notions, thread and surprises! What a way to start off the new year - and all for just dropping by either of our stores and saying hi!

If you don't have your e-mail address on our data base, get it to us ASAP so you too can be a part of our upcoming specials!

We are all busy working on exciting new store projects and class ideas, and you have to come by one of these days to see what's up. New books are arriving and NEW FABRIC! is ready to be unpacked. Hope to see you soon!
